The restaurant where I worked closed abruptly. The owners said they had sent a check for some of my tips but never did and a week later closed the place. Instead of paying me, they used my tips to pay for other expenses and now will not respond. They owe me three weeks worth of tips and wages. Their bank account is frozen and they say they have no money. Do I have any recourse besides small claims? I have some records of what they owe but they took some of it. I have correspondence where they admit to wrongdoing.
