I have been charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree, one count of larceny in the fourth, and one count of larceny in the sixth in Connecticut. I took a laptop from an unlocked car and an ipod from a different car three days later. I am 19 years old, go to college, and this is my first offense. Two police officers showed up at my door a few days later and took me down for questioning. I put the two items on ebay and they had a printout of it off of eBay. I returned everything and gave a statement of the truth. They let me go and told me they would try to keep it out of court. Ab6bout a month later thb6ey called me and told me I was going to be arrested. I went and turned myself in and now am awaiting court. I am really scared and do not know what to do. I have a few questions. Is there any hope of avoiding jail time? Does the fact that I did this on two different days make the case a lot worse? Is there any hope of the felony charged to be dropped to a misdemeanor?
