Business law is the branch of law related to commercial, industrial enterprises, and other for-profit undertakings.
Much of business law involves commercial transactions. These transactions often include buying, selling, exchanging, and leasing goods, property, and services. These transactions may also involve contracts, financing, and collateral. This may involve personal guarantees, security agreements, liens, and foreclosure and enforcement actions.
Business law also provides remedies for business transactions. These remedies include warranty rights and the ability to recover for certain business torts or wrongs. The remedies can result in the award of money damages, punitive damages, the award of property, and even specific performance of contractual obligations.
