Employees Right to Have a Firearm at Work
Should an employee be able to bring a firearm to work? The answer may be “yes” in Florida, so long as the employee has a concealed-carry permit and he leaves the handgun in his car. Criminal Law Attorney Ralph Behr posted an article entitled Florida Possession of Firearm In Parking Lot Law Tested on his blog. Behr explains that a funeral parlor employee brought suit after he was terminated from his employment for having a handgun in his car. Behr even sets out the new Florida statute that allows weapons to be stored in cars in Florida. Anyone with an interest in criminal law or the right to carry weapons should keep an eye on Behr’s blog to see the outcome if this case.
